Clotrimaderm 1% Cream is used to treat skin infections such as athlete's foot, jock itch, ringworm, and other fungal skin infections (candidiasis). This external cream can be applied to the irritated area to help relieve itching, scaling, burning and soreness. This cream is non-stinging, odourless, non-staining and greaseless.

Clotrimaderm (generic name: clotrimazole) is also used to treat a skin condition known as pityriasis (tinea versicolor), a fungal infection that causes a lightening or darkening of the skin of the neck, chest, arms, or legs. Clotrimazole is an azole antifungal that works by preventing the growth of fungus.
Medicinal Ingredients: Clotrimazole 1%
Before using Clotrimaderm (clotrimazole), tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to it; or to other azole antifungals such as econazole, ketoconazole, or miconazole; or if you have any other allergies. This product may contain inactive ingredients, which can cause allergic reactions or other problems. Talk to your pharmacist for more details.

Before using this medication, tell your doctor or pharmacist your medical history.
Apply to the affected area once to twice daily as directed by your doctor.

Use this medication on the skin only. Clean and thoroughly dry the area to be treated. Dosage and length of treatment depends on the type of infection being treated.Apply enough medication to cover the affected area and some of the surrounding skin. After applying this medication, wash your hands. Do not wrap, cover or bandage the area unless directed to do so by your doctor.
Tell your doctor if your symptoms do not start to improve after 7 days. Do not self-medicate for more than one week.

If you are using Clotrimaderm for 'jock itch' be sure to dry the groin completely after bathing. Do not wear underwear that is tight-fitting or made from synthetic fibers like rayon or nylon. Wear loose-fitting, cotton underwear.

If you are using Clotrimaderm for athlete's foot be sure to dry your feet carefully after bathing, especially between the toes. Do not wear socks made from wool or synthetic materials like rayon or nylon. Wear clean cotton socks and change them at least once a day, change them more if your feet sweat a lot. Also, try to wear sandals or shoes that are well-ventilated.

Side effects of Clotrimaderm usually do not require medical attention (report to your doctor or health care professional if they continue or are bothersome):
-allergic reactions like skin rash, itching or hives, swelling of the face, lips, or tongue
-skin irritation, burning
